Impaired Driver with Restricted License Charged

At approximately 11 p.m. on July 23, 2026, Charlottetown Police Services General Patrol Unit conducted a traffic stop. The driver had a restricted license and was operating a vehicle that was not equipped with the mandatory ignition interlock device. During the traffic stop, the officer also detected the smell of alcohol and observed open alcohol.

The 24-year-old male was charged with impaired driving. He was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
