Street Crime Unit Execute Warrant – Drug Charges Laid

Charlottetown Street Crime Unit lay drug charges in its third drug investigation this week.

Last night (Sept 21) at 9:50 pm, Charlottetown Police Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the Rapid Tactical Deployment and Containment Team executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act Search Warrant at a residence on Brighton Road.

The search resulted in the seizure of a quantity of fentanyl, hydromorphone, other drug paraphernalia and a large sum of cash.

A 44 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with CDSA 5(2) – Possession of drugs (hydromorphone) for the purpose of trafficking, CDSA 4(1) Possession of drugs (fentanyl)  and breach of a recognizance order.

The accused has been released with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
