Four Impaired Drivers Charged Since July 1st

Since July 1st, Charlottetown Police Services responded to ten (10) complaints of possible impaired drivers, four (4) of which have resulted in charges being laid.

File: 2021946427 – At 10:00 pm Thursday night, Police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Prince Street. Police located and pulled the vehicle over on Gower Street.  The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

A 37 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

File: 2021955247 – At 6:30 am on Saturday morning,  Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Grafton Street.  Police located the vehicle  and  determined that the driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

A 46 year old Dieppe, NB female was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

File: 2021956628 – At 2:30 pm Saturday afternoon, Police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on the arterial highway.  Officers located the vehicle on Mount Edward Road and conducted a traffic stop.  The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

A 29 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

File: 2021977005 – Just past midnight today (July 7th), Police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Great George Street.  Officers located the vehicle and determined that the driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

A 21 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

All charged individuals will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
