Disturbance Complaint Leads to Multiple Charges

At 11:35 am yesterday morning (Dec 15), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of persons arguing at a residence on Euston Street.

The investigation into the complaint led Police to several crime scenes as the suspect fled from Police.    While fleeing from Police, the suspect ran through a private residence on Euston Street, stole a vehicle on the Brighton Road, he then collided with parked vehicles on Queen Elizabeth Drive and got stuck in a yard, he then ran from the area and was located and arrested in the back yard of a residence on Malahu Drive.

A 29 year old Charlottetown male was taken into custody and faces multiple charges:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes
  • Unlawfully in a dwelling house
  • Mischief Under $5000
  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Dangerous driving
  • Failure to stop after an accident
  • Obstruct Police
  • Uttering death threats (5 counts)
  • Uttering threats against property (3 counts)

The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be laid.  The accused is currently in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
