35-year-old male charged with attempted murder

On July 13, 2026, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Charlottetown Police Services were called to an altercation near Park Street. It was determined that a verbal altercation between two individuals that were known to each other had escalated and that one individual was stabbed multiple times.

35-year-old Colby Strickland was arrested on scene without incident and taken to the Provincial Correctional Centre. The 30-year-old victim was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and later released.

Strickland has been charged with the following offences:

  • Attempted murder (s. 239 CCC)
  • Aggravated assault (s. 268 CCC)
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose (s. 88 CCC)
  • Failure to comply with probation order (s. 733 CCC)

He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 16, 2026.
