On September 21, Charlottetown Police Services General Patrol Unit was dispatched to a residence in the area of Hillsborough Street and Fitzroy Street for a report of damage from a firearm being discharged.
The investigation confirmed a firearm had been discharged inside the residence the previous evening. Officers obtained and executed a search warrant, resulting in the seizure of two shotguns, ammunition, a security system hard drive and a cellphone.
A 24-year-old male was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Careless use of a firearm (s. 86 CCC)
- Unsafe storage of firearm – two counts (s. 86 CCC)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 5, 2026.
