SCU Investigation Leads to Two Arrests and Seized Cocaine

On July 23, 2026, Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit conducted a targeted traffic stop in Crapaud and seized 117 grams of cocaine, cell phones and other drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, 34-year-old Samantha Richard-Sweet has been charged with CDSA 5(2) possession (of cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking. A 25-year-old male was also charged with CDSA 5(2) possession (of cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking.

Richard-Sweet was remanded in custody and will appear in court on July 28, 2026. The male was released and will appear in court on September 17, 2026.

This is the fourth drug seizure by CPS’ Street Crime Unit this month.
