Refusal Of Breath Demand – Charge Laid

At approximately 9:30 pm last night (April 10), while on routine patrol, Police observed a vehicle speeding and driving erratically.  Officers initiated a traffic stop on Weymouth Street and determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed the female under arrest.  She was brought back to the Police Station and refused to provide breath samples.

A 30 year old Stratford  female has been charged with refusing to provide a breath sample upon demand and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services is reminding the public  to  plan ahead and never get behind the wheel when their ability to drive is impaired by drugs or alcohol.

The Police Service wishes to thank concerned citizens for reporting possible impaired drivers.   The public is encouraged to report instances of suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
