While on patrol at 2:45 am Saturday morning, Charlottetown Police Services noticed a vehicle that was driving erratically and conducted a traffic stop. The driver displayed signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested. A 33 year old Stratford man was subsequently charged with refusing to provide a breath sample.
The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Polices Services would like to warn the public about a scam involving the website Indeed.
Over the last few days, Police have received several complaints of people falling victim to this scam.
The scam does vary – the victim applies for a job on Indeed and replies directly to the fictitious employer. That “employer” contacts the victim and conducts a job interview, the employer then contacts the victim and advises that they are the successful candidate and instructs them that a cheque will be sent and that it should be deposited into their bank account and that gift cards (such as Amazon) be purchased or that all or part of the money be transferred back to them. The public is being reminded that a legitimate employer would never ask for gift cards, cash or any other form of monetary item sent to them. Be vigilant, if something appears to be to good to be true, it likely is.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Beach Grove Road and North River Road at 00:35am this morning. The vehicle collided head on with the traffic signal pole. The driver was uninjured but displayed signs of impairment by alcohol.
A 47 year old Charlottetown female was arrested and subsequently charged with refusing a breath demand. She will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance while exiting a Taxi cab.
It was learned that the intoxicated male initially did not want to exit the cab, he eventually did, but caused damage to the vehicle when doing so. The male then proceeded to be verbally abusive to tenants watching and threatened one of them.
Upon Police arrival, the 47 year old Charlottetown male was arrested and has been charged with:

Charlottetown Police Services are investigating the theft of a car from Dorchester Street.
The vehicle is a Black 2006 Saturn Ion bearing PEI plate 111VM . The theft occurred sometime overnight on Thursday/Friday (May 30/31st ).

Charlottetown Police responded to a report of a break and enter into a storage rental unit within the city.
Police attended and subsequently 2 males were arrested and several items were seized.
Charlottetown Police are advising anyone who may have a storage unit within the city to confirm if there are any items missing from their storage unit and report it to police.
The investigation is ongoing and may lead to further charges.
One male was charged and will appear in court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police responded to a complaint of a suspicious male on a bicycle going from driveway to driveway on Gordon Drive early this morning at 2:20 am.
Police located the male who fled but was quickly apprehended and arrested. A 26 year old Charlottetown man has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of break-in instruments, Fail to comply with an Undertaking and Breach of Probation. The investigation is ongoing and may lead to further charges.
The accused has been held in custody for a show cause hearing to be held in Provincial Court on May 30th.

Occurrence date: May 23 & 24, 2019
As a result of fleeing from Police on three (3) separate occasions on May 23 & 24, a 32 year old woman has been charged with two (2) counts of Flight from Police, one (1) count of Possession of Stolen Property and three (3) counts of Breach of Probation.
The accused appeared in Provincial Court on May 28th for a show cause hearing and has been remanded in custody. Next court date is June 6 2019.
Charlottetown Police Services have charged two impaired drivers over the weekend.
On Saturday May 25 at 12:35 am, Police were called to Dorchester Street where a car alarm was disturbing residents. Upon arrival, Police observed a male slumped over in the drivers seat. Police woke the male up and determined that he was impaired by drugs and placed him under arrest.
The 47 year old male was subsequently charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired (by drugs). The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
On Monday May 27 at 03:30 am, Police responded to a call of an erratic driver that hit a curb on Grafton Street. Police located the vehicle and determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. A 19 year old male was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
