Charlottetown Police Services have laid Break and Enter charges in relation to a complaint of a male caught on video surveillance entering a shed on a residential property on Queen Street at 5:15 am yesterday morning (June 23).
Police were able to identify the male on video and located him yesterday afternoon and placed him under arrest.
A 30 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with two counts of Breach of Probation and a single count of Break and Enter. The male was released with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

At approximately 1:00 am this morning Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a male and female arguing on Queen Street.
Police located the male and female and determined that they had been involved in a verbal argument prior to Police arrival. While investigating this complaint, Police determined that the female was intoxicated by alcohol and was arrested for impaired driving. A small quantity of cocaine was also located on the female.
As a result of the investigation, a 23 year old Charlottetown female was subsequently charged with refusing to comply with a breath demand and possession of a controlled substance and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a stolen pick up truck from a residence on the Lower Malpeque Road. The truck was stolen sometime overnight (Sun-Mon) and reported to Police Monday morning.
The truck was located and recovered last night along an isolated dirt road in the Kinkora area. Charlottetown Police arrested and charged a 25 year old Charlottetown man with theft of vehicle, mischief under $5000, public mischief and breach of probation.
The accused was released from custody this morning with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

While on routine patrol at 1:25 am on Sunday morning, Police observed a vehicle travelling south on Queen Street nearly hitting a light pole and a parked vehicle. The vehicle was pulled over and it was determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and the driver was arrested. Breath sample results were almost three times the legal limit.
A 31 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services is seeking public assistance – Sometime between 10:00 am and noon on June 12th, someone stole two “Ebikes” from a residence on the Lower Malpeque Road. The picture of the bikes are below.
1) Trek Lift + Ebike Woman’s, white in color with a back rack and water bottle holder on the handle bars.
2) Trek Lift + Ebike Men’s, grey in color with a back rack.

While on routine patrol at 9:00 pm last night, Charlottetown Police Services conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle that displayed an expired vehicle registration sticker. While speaking with the driver, the Officer determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and arrested him.
A 56 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
A 38 year old Charlottetown woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was also arrested for breach of the peace and later released.

At 9:30 pm last night, Charlottetown Police Services responded to an incident between two vehicles on the Norwood Road. The incident involved two vehicles driving in the same direction when the vehicle at the rear passed the other and made gestures to the other male driver. The incident escalated when one of the drivers brandished what appeared to be a bat and threatened the other.
The investigation into this matter has led to charges of assault and uttering threats against a 30 year old Charlottetown man. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for driving without any insurance.
The accused was released with conditions to have no contact with the victim and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
Charlottetown Police Services are warning the public of a recent increase in the number of bicycles being stolen in the City.
Eight occurrences have been reported to Police since last Tuesday June 9th.
The bulk of the thefts have occurred on the west side of the City:
- Shell Court
- Ambrose Street
- Westview Drive
- Spring Park Road
- Lower Malpeque Road
- Liberty Crescent
Residents are encouraged to keep bicycles out of sight and locked when not in use.
