Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a male causing a disturbance at a business on Kent Street last night at 10:30 pm.
As a result of the investigation, Police charged a 24 year old Regina male with assault. The accused spent the night in jail and will be released this morning with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services are investigating the theft of a vehicle that occurred this morning at approximately 3:00 am (Sept 18). The vehicle had been parked at a residence on Young Street.
The vehicle is a white 2019 Honda CRV, bearing PEI plate 8SL. Picture of actual vehicle below.

On September 21st shortly after 3:00 pm, Charlottetown Police Service responded to a minor two vehicle collision on Capital Drive. While interacting with one of the drivers, Police determined that he was impaired by drugs and was arrested. An officer trained as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) confirmed the driver was under the influence of drugs and made the demand that a blood sample be provided. Impaired driving charges are pending the blood sample toxicology results.
A 52 year old Charlottetown man was released from custody with a 90 day driving prohibition order and the vehicle was impounded for 60 days.

At 12:30 pm on Saturday (Sept 18), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a call of suspicious activity at a residence on Westridge Crescent.
Upon arrival, Police located 3 individuals in the process of removing items from the residence. All three individuals were subsequently arrested for Break and Enter.
A 39 year old Stratford male, a 31 year old Charlottetown male and a 34 year old Charlottetown female were charged with Break and Enter. Both males were released from custody with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date. The female remains in custody. She was serving a conditional sentence order (house arrest) at the time of this offence.

Shortly after 10:00 pm on Saturday night, Charlottetown Police “clocked” a vehicle in the south bound lane on University Avenue driving at 128 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr speed zone.
The vehicle was pulled over and a 19 year old driver was issued an 880.00 dollar speeding ticket and the vehicle was towed and impounded for 24 hours.

As part of an ongoing investigation, members of the Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit with the assistance from the Uniformed Patrol Division and the Rapid Tactical Deployment Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act Search Warrant at a residence on Westridge Crescent at 9:00 pm on Friday (Sept 18th).
The search resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine and cash.
A 51 year old Charlottetown male was arrested on scene and taken into custody. The male was on Parole at the time and has since had his Parole revoked. The male facing one charge of Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The male will remain in custody on the Parole violation and will appear in Court on the new charge at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of domestic violence at 11:55 pm on Friday (Sep 18). The assault occurred at a Charlottetown business which had video surveillance and captured the assault. The female victim did not require any medical treatment.
Despite the female victim being uncooperative with Police and refusing to provide a statement, Police were able to lay one assault charge against a 34 year old New Brunswick man based on the video footage of the incident.
The accused has been released from custody with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
The Charlottetown Police Services has been requested to capture aerial video footage of City’s waterfront area in preparation for Hurricane Teddy’s arrival. The CPS’s newly formed Air Support Unit will deploy our Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) – FLIR SkyRanger R70 to complete this request and have been granted Nav Canada approval to do so.
Prior to any flight, the CPS will file a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) and obtain approval from NAV Canada. These NOTAMs are published on Nav Canada’s web page (navcanada.ca).

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint yesterday afternoon (5:45 pm) of a disturbance that occurred on Spring Park Road.
Upon Police arrival, the female victim told Police that a male had walked by her residence and her dog, which was tied on a rope. began barking at the male as he walked by. The male confronted the female about her barking dog and ended up spitting on her and left the area.
Police located the male a short time later and arrested him for assault.
A 41 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with assault and was released on conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Shortly after midnight on Sunday morning, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a large gathering at a residence on St Peters Road.
Upon Police arrival, a large group estimated to be over 50 people was observed in and around the residential property. Police spoke to the property representative and instructed him to have the guests leave as they were exceeding the maximum of 15 persons guideline established by the Provincial Chief Public Health Officer. The group complied and dispersed without incident.
A 20 year old Charlottetown male was issued a $1000 fine under section 39(8) of the Public Health Act which prohibits indoor personal gatherings in excess of 15 people.
