At 9:00 pm Friday night (April 30th), Charlottetown Police Services responded to an anonymous complaint of a large gathering on Pleasant Street. Police were able to confirm that the gathering was in excess of the current limit of 10 persons. A 19 year old female was issued a $1000 dollar ticket in violation of section 39(8) of the Public Health Act which prohibits indoor personal gatherings in excess of 10 people.
The investigation into the suspicious death reported last evening is ongoing and Police will provide a further update Monday afternoon. As previously stated, there is nothing at this point to indicate any risk to the public.

Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit made an arrest yesterday evening in relation to the on-going robbery investigation that occurred outside Walmart on Saturday afternoon April 24th.
The accused, a 25-year-old Charlottetown male was arrested at a residence in Charlottetown and charged with two counts of robbery contrary to section 343(c) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court tomorrow (April 30th).

A two month investigation by Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of illicit cannabis products, two replica firearms and cash. The investigation consisted of undercover purchases over a 6 week period that involved Police placing orders from an illicit online website and ended with a coordinated operation that resulted in two suspect arrested during an undercover purchase in Charlottetown and a simultaneous search conducted at a residence in West Covehead. A large portion of the deliveries made by the suspects were in Charlottetown City limits.
Police seized over $30,000 dollars worth of edible cannabis products (gummies, cake squares, cookies), cannabis buds, cannabis shatter, illegal cigarettes and cash.
Two males, 24 and 47 years old and a 57 year old female, all from West Covehead, have been charged under the Cannabis Act sections 9(1)(a)(iv) distribution of illicit cannabis and 9(2) possess cannabis for the purpose of distribution.
All charged parties have been released from custody with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

At 2:30 pm yesterday (April 26), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a tractor trailer driver not following public health guidelines during a delivery.
The driver had just arrived on PEI an hour before and was scheduled to drop off his load of merchandise at a City store. He proceeded to exit his truck and get into a vehicle and went for a drive with a friend whom is a PEI resident. He later returned to his truck and left the store prior to Police attending. With the assistance of the E-Watch cameras, Police were able to locate the direction of travel of the tractor trailer and located it on the arterial highway and pulled it over. A 26 year old Ontario male was issued a $1000 dollar ticket in violation of the Public Health Act. Off Island truck drivers making deliveries are required to remain in their trucks at all times.
The investigation in relation to the driver of the other vehicle that picked up the truck driver is ongoing.
Charlottetown Police Services have charged two drivers in separate occurrences over the weekend.

At 00:52 am Sunday morning, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on University Avenue. Officers located the vehicle and pulled it over. The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.
A 35 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle after he provided breath samples that were almost three (3) times the legal limit. The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

At 2:10 am this morning (April 26), Charlottetown Police Service responded to a single vehicle collision on St Peters Road. Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and was arrested. The driver was not injured.
A 53 year old Stratford male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle after he provided breath samples that were over three (3) times the legal limit. The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Police are releasing this video and request public assistance in identifying the male suspect.
At 3:05 pm on Saturday afternoon (April 24), two females were walking past the garden center at Walmart when a lone male approached them and started assaulting one of the females. The second female ran for help. The suspect then fled on foot behind Walmart and appears on video at 3:07 pm at 49 Burns Avenue. He then proceeds to walk towards 45 Burns Avenue and goes out of camera sight.
Anyone that may have surveillance video near Burns Avenue is asked to review video footage to see if it may have captured the suspect.

Charlottetown Police Services is investigating a Robbery that occurred at 3:00 pm this afternoon (April 24) and are seeking public assistance to identify the male suspect.
At approximately 3:00 pm, two female youth victims were walking past the garden center at Walmart when a lone male approached them and started assaulting one of the females. The second female ran for help. The male then stole the females backpack and fled on foot heading behind Walmart towards Burns Avenue. No weapons were used during the Robbery, however Police ask the public not to approach the suspect if seen and call Police immediately.
The male is described as wearing kaki pants, black jacket/hoodie and wearing a mask. See picture below, the jacket/hoodie has a distinct pattern/image.
Police will release better quality video/images as it becomes available.

At 9:50 pm last night (Apr 18), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a possible impaired driver that was traveling on St Peters Road. Police were able to locate and pull the suspect vehicle over a short time later.
Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and arrested. A 62 year old Charlottetown woman was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Mr MOONEY, whom was reported missing on Friday has been located deceased in a wooded area in Winsloe. PEI Ground Search and Rescue located the body last night. Police would like to thank the public, Island EMS, Charlottetown Fire Department, RCMP Police Dog Services and the PEI Ground Search and Rescue for their assistance. The cause of death is not suspicious.
