Objects Thrown at Passing Vehicles – Seeking Public Assistance
Charlottetown Police Services is seeking public assistance with identifying the suspects responsible for throwing objects at passing vehicles near the Winsloe Soccer field on the Lower Malpeque Road.
Over the last several months Police have received several complaints of objects being thrown at vehicles while driving past the Winsloe Soccer field area.
Most recently, on Friday night (Sept 17th) at 9:30 pm, one complainant had an apple thrown at his vehicle and another motorist reported a rock thrown at his vehicle that caused the windshield to crack. Needless to say that throwing objects at moving vehicles is extremely dangerous. Police are seeking public assistance with providing information that may lead to identifying those responsible.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a vehicle that left the road and into the ditch on River Ridge Drive at 8:45 pm last night (Sept 16).
The driver and lone occupant was not injured however displayed signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested.
A 31 year old Charlottetown female was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle after providing breath samples that were almost five (5) times the legal limit. She will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services is investigating damage to fourteen (14) roadside residential mailboxes along MacRae Drive and East Royalty Road. The damage is believed to have occurred around between midnight and 12:30 am on Saturday morning (Sept 11th).

The suspect, Michael GAUDET was located and arrested this morning without incident at a residence on Rochford Street.

Charlottetown Police Services have identified the suspect in this mornings stabbing on Kings Street as Michael Arthur GAUDET, Age 37. He is currently at large and wanted, a warrant for his arrest was issued this afternoon.
The suspect has an extensive criminal record including a history of violent crimes.
The circumstances of this incident appear to be isolated and do not suggest any immediate or ongoing threat to the public. However, if the suspect is observed by members of the public, they are asked to immediately call 911 or Charlottetown Police Services at 902-629-4172 or contact PEI Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
The female victim (Aged 35) is recovering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to an incident this morning at 6:00 am at a residence on King Street.
The Charlottetown Police Major Crime, Forensic Identification, Patrol units and RCMP Police Dog Services are on scene. The investigation is in it’s early stages. The victim was transported to the QEH for treatment of a knife inflicted wound, her condition is not believed to be life threatening at this time. There is no threat to the general public.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to an incident at the Charlottetown Airport at 1:30 am Thursday morning.
A male and female whom were passengers on an incoming flight refused to go through the Covid-19 screening center at the airport. The male allegedly pushed a health worker aside, by-passed the screening area and exited the airport. Police were able to intercept the pair and arrested them.
As a result, a 35 year old Alberta male has been charged with assault. In addition to the criminal code charge, the male and the 41 year old female that accompanied him were each issued a $1050.00 fine in violation of the Public Health Act.
The accused was released with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

At 4:30 pm on Wednesday (Sep 8), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of an assault that occurred in a parking lot of a business on Grafton Street.
An employee whom was leaving work encountered two males arguing in the parking lot, as the employee walked past the pair, one of the males raised a piece of wood at the employee and raised it in an attempt to strike the employee. The employee was able to move away and call security.
The suspect turned his aggression towards the security officer and stuck him in the head with the piece of wood and walked away. The security officer followed the suspect at which point the suspect turned and attempted to assault the officer again but was restrained until Police arrived.
A 37 year old Charlottetown male was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes. He was remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

At approximately 9:15 pm last night (Sept 7), Charlottetown Police Services responded to several 911 calls reporting a single vehicle roll over collision at the new St Peters Road/Arterial Highway intersection.
Witnesses described the vehicle driving eastbound on the Arterial Highway at excessive speed and failed to negotiate the Souris exit (St Peters Road North), hit the curb and roll several times. The lone occupant was not injured and was not impaired.
A 22 year old Charlottetown male has been charged under the criminal code with Dangerous Driving. He was released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

While on routine patrol at 2:00 am Sunday morning, Police observed a vehicle driving in the wrong direction on Kent Street. The vehicle was pulled over and the male driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.
A 24 year old Canoe Cove male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

A 31 year old male charged with Break and Enter and released on conditions on Tuesday (Aug 31), re-offended within hours of his release and is now remanded in custody until his court appearance next week.
As reported in a media release on Tuesday, Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit had located and arrested the 31 year old male and charged him with Break and Enter and Breach of Probation in connection with a residential Break and Enter that occurred last week. The male was released from custody with conditions Tuesday afternoon.
Later that day, at approximately 9:45 pm, the accused was caught on video surveillance attempting to gain entry into a shed at a residential property in the City. The male was again located and arrested yesterday (Sept 1) for this offence. He now faces additional charges of trespass at night and breach of probation. He appeared in court this morning and was remanded into custody and will appear in Provincial Court next week.
