Fireworks Incident – Seeking Public Assistance
On November 9th at approx. 7PM, Charlottetown Police Services attended the area of J. Frank MacAuley Park at the request of The Charlottetown Fire Inspector who was responding to a complaint of fireworks having been set off in the area.
Upon arrival police learned that three individuals had been setting off fireworks illegally which nearly struck other persons that were nearby and did cause a small brush fire that had to be extinguished by the fire inspector.
Charlottetown Police are seeking the assistance of the public in providing any information that may assist in identifying the individuals responsible.

Charlottetown Police Services is reminding the public to keep a close eye on their drinks when out in local drinking establishments.
The Major Crime Unit is currently investigating two reports of females believed to have ingested noxious substances while consuming alcohol at drinking establishment in downtown Charlottetown. In one of the instances, toxicology testing confirm the presence of a noxious substance.
Investigations are ongoing, and Charlottetown Police encourage patrons who are consuming beverages at drinking establishments to be mindful of these incidents.
Anyone who suspects having ingested a noxious substance should attend the QEH, seek medical attention and report it to the authorities immediately.

Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit, with the assistance from the Rapid Tactical Deployment Unit and Patrol Officers executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act Search Warrant at a residence on Patterson Drive Wednesday evening (Nov 3).
Police seized a quantity of cocaine, crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
A 56 year old Charlottetown male was arrested on scene and has been charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and breach of probation. The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court next week.
A second male , a 35 year old Charlottetown male, who was inside the residence at the time was also arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant. He has also been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

At approximately 3:44 pm yesterday afternoon (Nov 3), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Pond Street. Police located the vehicle and determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver, a 66 year old Charlottetown male refused to provide breath samples and was subsequently charged with refusing to provide a breath sample upon demand and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

On Sunday afternoon, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a female that stole a package from a residence doorstep on Euston Street. With assistance from the public, Officers were able to locate the suspect on Alexander Drive.
As a result, a 30 year old Charlottetown female was charged with theft under 5000 dollars. The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

At 8:25 am this morning (Nov 1), Charlottetown Police services responded to a five vehicle motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Kensington Road and Walker Drive.
A T3 Transit bus heading north on Kensington Road failed to stop for a red traffic light and collided with a pick up truck that was traveling west on Walker Drive. The bus then collided head on with 3 other vehicles that were stopped at the red light in the Kensington Road southbound lane. The collision was captured on the Police E-Watch video surveillance system.
Two drivers involved in the collision were transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries. No one on the bus reported any injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and highway traffic act charges are expected to be laid against the bus driver.
The Charlottetown Police Services Bike Auction is taking place on Saturday, October 30th.
The auction will take place at Charlottetown Police Services, located at 10 Kirkwood Drive, in the rear parking lot of the Station. Viewing will open at 8:30 a.m. with the live auction beginning at 9:00 a.m. Please note, there will be no parking available in the rear parking lot of the Police Station during the auction.
There are approximately 120 bicycles up for auction that had been abandoned, suspected stolen and recovered, but never claimed, or simply misplaced.

On Saturday morning (Oct 23), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a residential break and enter on St Peters Road.
Sometime overnight, the attached garage of the residence was broken into. Stolen items included two shotguns, ammunition and multiple tools. The Street Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Section attended the scene to support the investigation.
Within a few hours, Officers were able to identify the suspect and arrested him at his residence at 11:00 am.
A search warrant was executed – All stolen items were recovered along with stolen property from other unrelated theft files. In addition to the stolen property, a quantity of cocaine, cash and other drug paraphernalia was also seized.
The accused, a 37 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with:
- Break and Enter
- Possession of property obtained by crime (x2)
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking
- Fail to comply with an undertaking
The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court on Thursday.

At 1:35 am this morning, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a three vehicle hit and run collision on St Peters Road. Fortunately there were no injuries reported to Police. One vehicle was struck head on and sustained significant damage, while the second vehicle only sustained minor damage. The suspect vehicle sustained front end damage and fled the scene without stopping.
Based on witness information, Police were able to locate the vehicle and driver in Cornwall. The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.
A 20 year old Cornwall male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, he will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police is warning local businesses that counterfeit US 100 dollar bills are being passed to unsuspecting business employees. Two separate occurrences were reported. Both happened on October 12 and involves a patron paying for an order at a drive thru window.
The bills have the same serial number LB45440078L, have no hologram features and display 4 Chinese characters on the back side. The actual bill pictured below for reference.
