UPDATE – SUMMER KNEEBONE DISAPPEARANCE
At approximately 12:30 pm, today, two persons of interest were arrested and charged in relation to the disappearance of Summer Kneebone. The couple arrested are Island residents but were arrested in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia under Section 182(b) of Criminal Code of Canada, which states –
“Every one who neglects, without lawful excuse, improperly or indecently interferes with or offers any indignity to a dead human body or human remains, whether buried or not, is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years.”
At this point we have not determined the location of Summer Kneebone and the investigation is still very much ongoing. Our thoughts are with Summer’s family and friends as this investigation continues to develop.
We are asking anyone who has had contact with the following couple since Aug 5, 2023, to please contact the Charlottetown Police Services.

While on routine patrol at 2:05am Saturday morning, Officers observed a vehicle driving erratically on Kent Street and performed a traffic stop. Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed the male under arrest. He was brought back to the Police Station and refused to provide breath samples.
A 59 year old Nova Scotia male has been charged with refusing to provide a breath sample upon demand and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Service will host a neighbourhood meeting on Tuesday, September 05, 2023, to discuss crime and safety concerns in our city.
The Charlottetown Police deliver services through a community policing model. In order for community policing to be effective we need to have ongoing communication with our citizens and a collaborative approach to identify community needs and solve problems.
Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 05, 2023, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Birchwood Intermediate School Gymnasium.

At 00:35 am on Wednesday August 30th, 2023, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a male that had been stabbed on Euston Street.
Upon arrival, Police located the victim that had a laceration to his face as a result of an altercation that he had with a male known to him. Both males had been in a verbal altercation that resulted with the suspect pulling a knife and struck the victim in the face. The victim was taken to the QEH by IEMS with serious but non life threatening injuries.
The suspect was located by Officers yesterday afternoon at 4:00pm. A 30 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes. He is in custody and will appear in Provincial Court this morning.
File: 20231281412 – At approximately 3:40 am this morning (Aug 30), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on the Arterial Highway, the vehicle was stationary and the driver was reported to be sleeping at the wheel. Officers located the vehicle stationary on the side of the road and determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and was arrested.
A 28 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle after providing breath samples that were over the legal limit.
The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
Charlottetown Police Services is reminding the public to plan ahead and never get behind the wheel when their ability to drive is impaired by drugs or alcohol.
The Police Service wishes to thank concerned citizens for reporting possible impaired drivers. The public is encouraged to report instances of suspected impaired driving by calling 911.
At approximately 1:00 am Thursday morning (Aug 17, 2023), Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit with the assistance of Patrol Officers executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act Search Warrant at a residence on Doncaster Avenue.
The search resulted in the seizure of:
- approximately 1.4 kilograms of cocaine
- approximately 700 dilaudid pills
- a quantity of crystal methamphetamine
- 3600.00 dollars cash
- airsoft firearm and bear spray
- cell phones
- other drug paraphernalia
Two males and one female were arrested. A 34 year old Charlottetown male was charged with CDSA 4(1), possession of drugs and was released from custody shortly after.
A 33 year male and a 32 year old female, both from Charlottetown, were charged with the following offenses and have been remanded in custody until their next Provincial Court appearance at 1:15 pm on Monday August 21st, 2023.
- CDSA 5(2) – Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- CDSA 5(2) – Possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking
- CDSA 5(2) – Possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- CCC 88(1) – Possession of a weapon (airsoft firearm) for dangerous purposes
- CCC 88(1) – Possession of a weapon (bear spray) for dangerous purposes
- CCC 267(a) – Assault Police Officer
The Officer that was sprayed did not require medical attention.

Charlottetown Police is seeking public assistance in locating a missing person.
- Summer KNEEBONE, 27 years old
- 5 feet tall , approximately 120 pounds.
- Brown hair, hazel eyes
- Wearing denim jacket, jeans, black sneakers
She was last seen August 7th on Kent Street.

Charlottetown Police Services, Charlottetown Fire and Island EMS responded to a collision that occurred on St Peters Road at 3:40 pm Friday afternoon (Aug 11). Queens RCMP were also on scene as they had been responding to an erratic driver complaint heading from Mount Stewart to Charlottetown on Route 2, which was later determined to be the same vehicle that caused this collision.
It was reported that a vehicle (grey Ford Fusion) traveling South/West on St Peters Road, attempted to pass another vehicle (white Dodge Caravan) traveling in the same direction and collided with it near St Peters Road and Bridle Path Lane.
The Dodge Caravan ended up in the ditch. The lone driver was shaken up but uninjured. The Ford Fusion hit a culvert, flipped/rolled and came to rest on it’s tires. The lone driver was extracted by Charlottetown Fire and was transported to the QEH by IEMS with serious but non life threatening injuries.
Charlottetown Police Collision Reconstructionist and other support Officers assisted with the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing, Police requests that anyone with video that may have captured the collision to contact Police at 902-629-4172.
On Thursday August 10, 2023 at approximately 2:00pm, the Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit arrested a male and female on Euston Street following an investigation into street level drug trafficking in Charlottetown.
Officers seized a quantity of hydromorphone pills and cash.
A 51 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with CDSA 5(1) – Trafficking (narcotic Schedule 1). The female was not charged.
The accused male has been released from custody and will appear in Province Court at a later date.
