Charlottetown Police Services is investigating the theft of a vehicle from a residence on MacLean Avenue at 8:30am Friday morning (Jan 12).   The complainant told Police the vehicle was idling in the driveway and when they went to leave the house, the vehicle was gone.

The vehicle is a white 2021 Land Rover Range Rover, it was bearing PEI plate MANGO at the time of the theft.   The picture below is similar to the one stolen.

File: 202455683 – At 4:30pm Saturday afternoon (Jan 13), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a male drinking from a liquor bottle while parked in a business parking lot on University Avenue.  Police located the vehicle stationary, idling in the parking lot.   The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested and brought to the Police Station for breath samples.

A 77 year old New Glasgow PEI male has been charged with refusing to provide a breath sample upon demand and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

File: 202457136 – At 11:45pm Saturday night (Jan 13), Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver parked in a business parking lot on St Peters Road.  Police located the vehicle stationary in the parking lot.   The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested and brought to the Police Station for breath samples.

A 28 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle after providing breath samples that were almost twice the legal limit.  The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services is reminding the public  to  plan ahead and never get behind the wheel when their ability to drive is impaired by drugs or alcohol.

The Police Service wishes to thank concerned citizens for reporting possible impaired drivers.   The public is encouraged to report instances of suspected impaired driving by calling 911.

Charlottetown Police Services is seeking public assistance in identifying this male Break and Enter suspect.   The B&E occurred on January 1 at approximately 2:00am at the Birchwood Intermediate School on Longworth Avenue.

At 5:20 pm yesterday (Jan 7) afternoon, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a weapon complaint at a gas station/convenience store on Capital Drive.

Police learned that a female had been in the convenience store and had dropped a hand gun.  She picked it up, place it in her purse, exited the store and got into a vehicle and drove away.

Surveillance video was reviewed and the female suspect was identified.   The Charlottetown Police Street Crime Unit were called to assist with the investigation.   At 11:00pm last night, the Street Crime Unit located the suspect vehicle and pulled it over in the Hillsborough Park area of the City.   The female suspect was arrested and a bb hand gun was located and seized.

A 34 year old Charlottetown female has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.   She was released with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

File: 202428574 – Shortly past midnight on Saturday morning (Jan 6),  while on routine patrol, an Officer came upon a vehicle that was previously reported as a possible impaired driver and pulled it over on the Malpeque Road, north of the Arterial Highway.  The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested and brought to the Police Station for breath samples.

A 20 year old Charlottetown male was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle after providing breath samples that were almost twice the legal limit.

Charlottetown Police Services is investigating the theft of a dump trailer.

The dump trailer was stolen from a construction site on Brooklyn Avenue, which is located in the new subdivision Hidden Valley in West Royalty.   The theft occurred sometime between Friday evening and Saturday (Jan 6) afternoon.   Details of the trailer are:

Trailer: 2023 K-Trail 14’ galvanized dump trailer, Model: D8214-14-PS, VIN: 2RYKBDF25PM036377.

The trailer pictured below is the same type, however the one stolen has a 2×4 boards top edge that is stained grey to match the trailer.

Last night (Jan 4) at approximately 11:50pm, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a break and enter complaint at a business on Kent Street.

The complainant told Police that she had closed the business a short time earlier and had quickly returned to the business as she had forgotten her phone and discovered the break and enter and called Police.  A cell phone, several iPads, cash from the till and liquor bottles were stolen.   Several other Police units responded and began searching the area.   A short time later, Police found a male exiting a dumpster and was found in possession of the stolen items.

A 34 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with break and enter and breach of probation.

The accused appeared in court this afternoon and has been remanded in custody for a show cause hearing scheduled for Monday.

Have you seen this boat?

On November 29, 2023, Charlottetown Police Services received a complaint of a missing dory.   The actual dory is pictured above, circled in red.  This dory had been tied up at the Charlottetown Yacht Club.   The photo was taken on November 29th by a citizen that wanted to inform the public (via Facebook) that it was no longer tied up, had filled with water and came to rest on shore next to the Yacht Club.   The owner of the dory went looking for it a short time later, but it was no longer there.

It is unclear if the dory got washed away further, sunk due to water intake or if someone may have removed the boat from the shore.
