At approximately 2:25 am Friday morning, Police noticed an approaching vehicle on Belvedere Avenue with no lights on. A traffic stop ensued and the Officer determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and was arrested. A 39 year old Summerside male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The accused with appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

At approximately 9:30 am on Tuesday August 13th Charlottetown Police Services responded to a call reporting a male and female arguing in the Walmart parking lot.
Through the course of the investigation, Police located several knives, one pair of brass knuckles and one hand gun.
Three (3) individuals, a 22 year old Charlottetown woman, a 25 year old Charlottetown man and a 15 year old Tyne Valley male youth were arrested at the scene.
All three have been charged with:
Possession of a Prohibited Firearm (sec 95)
Careless storage of a firearm (sec 86)
Possession of a firearm without a license (sec 91)
Possession of a Prohibited weapon, brass knuckles (sec 91)
The three accused individuals were brought to a remand hearing late in the day and were released with conditions, all will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
Child and Family Services were advised of the 15 year old youth involved in this case.

Sunday 11:30 pm. Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver southbound on St Peters Road.
The vehicle was located a short time later on Longworth Avenue and a traffic stop was conducted. The responding Officer determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and was arrested. The driver provided breath samples above the legal limit.
A 24 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Thursday August 8, 2019 – 2:30pm
On Thursday afternoon, while on patrol, Charlottetown Police Services intercepted a stolen vehicle that was previously reported stolen out of Saint John New Brunswick. Police were alerted to the vehicle by the License Plate Recognition camera that detected the New Brunswick licence plate number and sent an alert to the Officer on patrol.
The Officer attempted to pull the vehicle over but it fled from Police. The Street Crime Unit, in unmarked police vehicles were able to located the stolen vehicle a short distance away and arrested two males.
A 22 year old Nova Scotia male and a 20 year old New Brunswick male were charged with possession of property obtained by crime, flight from Police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. The men were released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of 2 males attempting to steal a bicycle on Hawthorne Avenue at 6:30 am Wednesday morning.
Police located two males matching the description a short distance away. Both males were arrested and brought to Police Headquarters for further processing.
The investigation has led to charges involving theft from vehicles that had occurred overnight.
A 34 year old Charlottetown man, who was also wanted on PEI at the time of the arrest has been charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime (x3), possession of break in instruments, possession of drugs, breach of probation (x2) and fail to comply with an Undertaking. The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
The second male, a 29 year old Charlottetown man was charged with theft under $5000, possession of property obtained by crime (x3), possession of break in instruments and breach of probation (x2). He appeared in Court this morning for a remand hearing and was released on conditions pending his next court appearance.
Charlottetown Police Services have laid 2 separate, unrelated impaired driving charges over the weekend.
At 8:00 pm Friday evening, Police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver travelling on Kensington Road. The suspect vehicle was located at the registered owners residence with the male driver still behind the wheel and the engine running. The driver of the vehicle displayed signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested. A 63 year old Charlottetown man was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
At 5:40 pm Sunday evening, Police responded to a 911 call with a complaint that an intoxicated male was about to get into a vehicle and drive away. Police located the suspect vehicle on Kent Street and the vehicle was pulled over. Police determined that the driver was indeed impaired by alcohol. A 71 year old Ontario man was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
