Theft from Vehicle – Charges Laid

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint that a male was seen going through a vehicle at 4:15 am this morning on Upper Prince Street.

A quick response by Police and a good physical and clothing description of the suspect  provided by the complainant led Police to locate and arrest a male that was seen a short distance away.

As a result of the investigation, a 48 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with Trespass at Night and Breach of Probation.

The accused was released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a disturbance outside the Provincial Court House yesterday at 1:45 pm.

Several people were involved in an altercation near the entrance to the Court House. As a result of the investigation:

  • a 40 year old Charlottetown female has been charged with Assault Peace Officer and Mischief under $5000
  • a second 40 year old Charlottetown female has been charged with Causing a Disturbance
  • a third 40 year old Charlottetown female has also been charged with Causing a Disturbance

All three accused females will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Video surveillance captured two individuals going through vehicles on December 15th at approximately 2:00 am.  The video shows two individuals coming from Greenfield Avenue, heading west on Churchill, then return to Greenfield and head south towards the Brighton Road.

Charlottetown Police Services have arrested and charged a 30 year old Charlottetown man with Break and Enter and Breach of Probation.

On December 11th Police responded to a complaint of a break and enter into a house that was undergoing renovations.  Video surveillance lead to the identification of the suspect who was arrested Monday morning.

The accused has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court tomorrow.

UPDATE LOCATED: Dec 17 2:00 pm – The vehicle in question has been located in Nova Scotia.  Thank you to those who reported sightings.

Charlottetown Police Services are looking for public assistance in locating a vehicle that was involved in a collision and flight from Police.

On Friday December 13th at approximately 4:45 pm Police responded to a shoplifting complaint where the suspect had left in a grey pick up truck and was seen turning from North River Road onto the Beach Grove Road, then North on the Maypoint Road.  A responding Police vehicle met the oncoming pick up truck at the end of the Maypoint Road when it collided with another vehicle and continued on towards the traffic circle.  Police turned around and attempted to pull it over but discontinued for public safety reasons.

The pick up truck’s last known direction of travel is west bound on the Trans Canada Highway towards Cornwall.

The suspect vehicle is a dark grey 2016 Toyota Tundra bearing Alberta plate CCN5560.  (actual vehicle pictured below)

The pick up should have damage on the front passenger side.

Having overcome adversity himself, Mr. Bowen speaks to youth about resilience, leadership and teamwork.  One Voice, One Team was the message, “we all can contribute”.

The Citizen Police Academy (CPA) involves a commitment of one evening per week from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm (three hours) for 10 weeks. Week 10 is a graduation ceremony.
A maximum of 20 participants will be enrolled per session.
The Citizen Police Academy will take place in the community room of the Charlottetown Police Academy located at 10 Kirkwood Drive, Charlottetown.
There is no cost for enrolment.
