Charlottetown Police Services are alerting the public of a new email scam that has been reported numerous times in the last few days.

The potential victim receives an email from “Privacy-Vault” which lists their personal information such as SIN, address and date of birth.  The email then instructs them to follow a website link.  Once on the website it further instructs the victim that the issue can be resolved but will require payment of $50.00 dollars to a bitcoin address.

Charlottetown Police Services are investigating the theft of a vehicle that occurred Friday afternoon January 24 at approximately 4:25 pm.

The vehicle is a black 4 door 2015 Honda Civic, bearing PEI plate 287RS. It was stolen from a residence near the intersection of Connolly and Queen Street.

At approximately 2:15 am, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a single vehicle collision on the Arterial Highway (near Southgate Lane).

Police located a vehicle on it’s side with the lone male driver inside.  Charlottetown Fire Department assisted with extracting the uninjured driver from the vehicle.  Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

A 49 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

File: 202094723 – Tuesday Jan 21, 2020 @ 22:15 pm

Charlottetown Police Services responded to several 911 calls Tuesday night at approximately 10:15 pm reporting an assault occurring on the Arterial Highway, near the Upton Road round about.

Two vehicles were driving westbound on the Arterial Highway when a collision occurred.  One off the  drivers exited his car and proceeded to open the other drivers door and proceeded to repeatedly punched the elderly male driver.  He then returned to his vehicle and fled the scene.

The victim was transported to the QEH, treated for injuries and has since been released.

Witnesses were able to obtain the license plate of the suspect vehicle which led to the arrest of a 27 year old Covehead male.   The suspect was arrested on Wednesday and has been charged with Assault causing bodily harm.

The accused appeared in Provincial Court this afternoon for a remand hearing and was released with conditions.  He will return to court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a collision between a vehicle and a Charlottetown Public Works sidewalk snow plow on Fitzroy Street at 2:40 am this morning.

The vehicle that ran into the plow left the scene before Police arrival but was located a short time later on Euston Street.

The driver of the vehicle displayed signs of impairment and was arrested.  A 35 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

There were no reported injuries.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on University Avenue.  The suspect vehicle was located and a traffic stop ensued.  Police determined that the driver was showing signs of being impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

A 37 year old Greenvale woman was charged with Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services have arrested a male in connection to the armed robbery at Nick’s Food Market reported on Friday.

A 36 year old Charlottetown man has been charged with Armed Robbery and has been remanded in custody.   He will appear in Provincial Court tomorrow morning at 9:30 am.

On January 17th, 2020 Charlottetown Police Services attended 79 St. Peter’s Road, Nick’s Bakery, for a report of an armed robbery.

A male, depicted in the photos below, entered wearing a mask and demanding money while holding a firearm.

The male left the area in a dark coloured SUV with all black wheel wells (wheel well pictured below).
