Charlottetown Police Services is seeking public assistance to identify the driver or the vehicle involved in a hit and run that occurred on Thursday March 12th.
At approximately 4:00 pm, the “hit” vehicle , a white 2014 Nissan Rogue, was travelling north on the Brackley Point Road, when the “run” vehicle, Eastbound on Pine Drive, failed to stop at the intersection and collided with the rear drivers side of the Nissan Rogue. The hit vehicle did not remain at the scene and left the area heading East on Coles Drive.
There is no description of the “run” vehicle, but it would have sustained some damage to it’s front end.

Steven O’BRIEN went missing more than 30 years ago and was last seen on Saturday March 20th, 1993. He was in the downtown Charlottetown area wearing a burgundy L.L. Bean jacket with plaid inside, blue jeans and black shoes or sneakers. He left his residence without his wallet, keys and other personal effects.
Description at the time he went missing:
• Age: 18
• Height: 168 cm (5’6”)
• Weight: 63 kg (139 lbs)
• Build: Slender
• Hair: Brown, short
• Eyes: Brown
• Complexion: Fair

While on routine patrol at 2:30 am Sunday morning, Police noticed a vehicle driving erratically on University Avenue and pulled it over on Passmore Street. The driver displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested.
A 22 year old Charlottetown man was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
Charlottetown Police Services encourage the public to report any instances of impaired driving…Call 911.
Charlottetown Police Services would like to warn the public of a recent phone scam involving child support payment requests.
Individuals who are currently making child/spousal support payments are receiving automated phone calls indicating that a court case is pending and without making a payment via the automated system, the individual will face legal action that may result in jail time.
This is a scam, payment requests would not be made by automated systems, direct contact would be made by an employee of the Maintenance Enforcement Department.

Charlottetown Police Services are investigating the theft of a vehicle that occurred at 00:25 am (Mar 18). The vehicle was last seen parked on Spring Park Road.
The vehicle is a grey 2005 Dodge Neon, bearing PEI plate 016UC. The vehicle has one off white door.

Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit located and arrested Jordan MACLENNAN at a Charlottetown residence at 10:00 am this morning. The arrest was made without incident. The accused will appear in Court later today for a remand.hearing.
A second suspect, a 19 year old Charlottetown woman was arrested on March 9th and charged with Aggravated Assault. She was released on conditions and will appear in Provincial Court on April 20th.

As the result of an ongoing drug investigation, Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit with the assistance of Patrol Officers executed a drug search warrant at a residence on Elena Court yesterday afternoon at 5:30 pm.
A quantity of cocaine and cash were seized. Four individuals were arrested and charged:
a 30 year old Ontario man – charged with Possession of drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking. This individual has a pending drug charge from a previous drug search executed by Charlottetown Police on February 9th 2020 on Woodward Drive. The accused will appear in Court later today for a remand hearing.
a 25 year old Ontario man – charged with Possession of drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking. The accused will be released later today with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
a 30 year old Nova Scotia man – charged with Possession of drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking. The accused will be released later today with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
a 33 year old Charlottetown woman – charged with Possession of drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking. The accused will be released later today with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
