Female sought by Police Arrested – Faces Multiple Charges

Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit located and arrested a 33 year old Charlottetown woman at approximately 8:30 pm on Wednesday evening (June 10).  Police had been looking for the female in connection with a flight from police incident that occurred on May 30th.

During the arrest on Wednesday, Police located a significant quantity of methamphetamine consistent with drug trafficking.

The accused is now facing multiple charges:

  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking
  • Flight from Police
  • Dangerous Driving
  • Driving while Prohibited (x2)
  • Theft of mail
  • Breach of Probation (x2)

The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a harassment complaint this morning at 3:30am which has resulted with a 42 year old Charlottetown male being charged with criminal harassment.

The accused has been released with conditions to have no contact with the female victim and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services have received a significant $3000 dollar donation from Mr. Earl Foster, representative from the Charlottetown Y’s Men Club.  The Healthy Me program was developed in 2016 by Charlottetown police and student services workers.  It is offered to Elementary School student and focuses on drug abuse and mental health.

A 21-year-old Charlottetown man has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident after a vehicle hit a light pole and went off the road near Hillsborough Park early Saturday morning, police say.

Charlottetown police received a call from a witness to a single-vehicle accident at Riverside Drive and Pioneer Avenue at about 4 a.m.

Police said the driver fled on foot. Police checked the nearby Queen Elizabeth Hospital but he was not there, said Charlottetown police Sgt. Dean Field.

He said the man was located later Saturday night and charged.

On Saturday afternoon at approximately 5:20 pm, Charlottetown Police Services respond to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on St Peters Road.   Police were able to locate the vehicle, effected a traffic stop and determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol.

A 55 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

As part of an ongoing investigation, members of the Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit with the assistance from uniformed patrol division executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act Search Warrant at a Charlottetown residence on Weymouth Street last night at approximately 10:30 pm.

Police seized a replica hand gun, a quantity of cocaine, cash and other drug trafficking related items.  A 38 year old Charlottetown male and a 23 year old Charlottetown female were arrested at the scene and have both been charged with Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Both accused’s have been released on conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services are investigating the theft of a vehicle from a parking area on St Peters Road.

The vehicle is a red 2007 Dodge Caliber which may have been bearing PEI plate 968VU.  The picture attached is similar to the one stolen.

Over the last few days Charlottetown Police Services has seen an increased volume of complaints reporting thefts from vehicles.  With the nicer weather upon us, these type of thefts typically become more common.

Several communities have been affected:

  • West Royalty
  • Spring Park
  • Downtown

Charlottetown Police will be stepping up patrols in these areas.

Residents can take some effective preventative measures such as:

  • Do not leave valuables such as purses, wallets and electronic devices in vehicles
  • Always keep your doors locked

Residents are also encouraged to immediately report suspicious activity to Police.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of an assault that occurred in a business parking lot on University Avenue yesterday morning at 11:20 am.  The suspect  approached the victim and struck him several times with a metal pipe, then left the area in his vehicle.   The victim suffered minor injuries.  This assault was not a random act, both males knew each other, and there is no risk to the public.

The investigation has led to the arrest of a 49 year old Charlottetown man.   The accused has been charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats.  He was released on conditions to have no contact with the victim and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

While on routine patrol at 2:20 am on Sunday May 31st, Police noticed a vehicle travelling west on Euston Street without any license plate.  The vehicle was pulled over and Officers determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment by alcohol.   The driver was arrested and returned to the Police Station to provide breath samples.

A 19 year old Stratford male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
