Assist to Identify: Mischief Suspects

Charlottetown Police Services (CPS) is seeking public assistance to identify three individuals connected to multiple reports of vehicle damage. On October 10, 2025, CPS received reports of damage and mischief to vehicles parked downtown in the area bounded by Richmond Street, Queen Street, Euston Street and Prince Street, between the hours of 9:30 pm and 11:00 pm.

Although a number of investigative leads and surveillance footage have been reviewed, the investigation remains ongoing and CPS is seeking assistance to identify the three individuals. We’re hopeful that someone may recognize the individual(s) or have information that can help move this investigation forward. Even the smallest detail could make a difference.

Charlottetown Police Services (CPS) is warning residents about a recent uptick in license plate thefts. Over the past week, CPS received more than a dozen reports of license plates stolen from various locations including a residence, businesses, the hospital and airport.

Stolen license plates are often targeted by criminals to avoid detection, disguise stolen vehicles, evade tolls, or commit other crimes. Therefore, it’s important to report this crime to police immediately.

If you discover your license plate is missing, take the following steps:

  • Report the theft to police immediately by calling the non-emergency line: (902) 629-4064
  • Locate your registration
  • Contact Access PEI with information from the police report and to request replacement plates
  • Notify your insurance company
  • Keep an eye on your accounts and the mail for unusual activity or traffic violations

At approximately 4 a.m. on December 7, Charlottetown Police Services, with assistance from the Street Crime Unit, arrested and charged 56-year-old Edward George Willis with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime (less than $5,000).

Officers responded to a call about a male passed out in a parked vehicle. As part of the initial response, CPS dispatchers were also able to alert officers about the license plate on the vehicle being reported stolen.

The vehicle was searched as a result of the arrest and officers seized 41g of crystal methamphetamine, along with thousands of dollars worth of power tools.

The 56-year-old was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession (of crystal methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA 5(2)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime, less than $5,000 (s. 354 CCC)

Willis was remanded and is scheduled to appear in court on December 11, 2025.

Charlottetown Police Services is hosting its Annual Turkey Drive to support local families this holiday season. On Wednesday, December 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., officers will be on hand at the Atlantic Superstore (465 University Avenue) to collect frozen turkeys and monetary donations for the Upper Room Hospitality Ministry’s Food Bank.

At approximately 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, Charlottetown Police Services received a call about an armed robbery in the Fitzroy Parkade. The caller reported that two masked individuals wielding a knife approached his car and demanded money.

Less than 10 minutes later, the General Patrol Unit located and arrested the two suspects, 41-year-old Tyler Dara Carl Gaudet and 26-year-old Daniel Ronald Thorne. Fortunately, there were no injuries related to the incident.

41-year-old Tyler Dana Carl Gaudet and 26-year-old Daniel Ronald Thorne have both been charged with the following offences:

  • armed robbery (s. 343 CCC)
  • disguise with intent (s. 351 CCC)
  • breach of probation (s. 733 CCC)

Both Gaudet and Thorne were remanded and are scheduled to appear in court on December 4, 2025.

On November 5, Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit arrested and charged two individuals with multiple offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking – 40-year-old Holly Hull and a 42-year-old female.

During the arrest, officers seized 42g of cocaine, $5,030 in cash, a cell phone and other drug-related paraphernalia.

Holly Hull was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession (of cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA 5(2)
  • Failure to comply with probation order (s. 733 CCC)
  • Operating a motor vehicle while prohibited – two counts (s. 320 CCC)

Hull will remain in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on December 4, 2025.

The 42-year-old female was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession (of cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA 5(2)

She was later released and is scheduled to appear in court on January 8, 2026.

Charlottetown Police Services is warning the public of a phone scam targeting grandparents. CPS has received reports from residents who have recently been contacted by someone claiming their grandchild is in trouble and that money is needed for their release or safety. In some instances, the scammer names the person’s grandchild or uses their personal information in an attempt to validate their request.

If you receive a suspicious call or request for money such as this – do not send money, do your due diligence first. For example, call your grandchild or another family member to verify the claims or requests.

Officers seized nearly 2kg of cocaine and a 12-guage shotgun

Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit arrested and charged four Nova Scotia individuals following an investigation into an Organized Crime Group operating in the greater Charlottetown area.

On Wednesday, November 12 at approximately 1:00 p.m., Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit assisted by the Tactical Response Unit and Major Crime Unit executed two Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrants simultaneously at a residence in Cornwall and another in Stratford. Two individuals were arrested at the Cornwall residence, and two others were arrested at the residence in Stratford without incident.

Officers seized 1.9 kilograms of cocaine, 25 grams of MDMA, 181 grams of cannabis and 25 Percocet tablets, one 12-gauge shotgun, 17 rounds of ammunition, more than $11,000 cash and other items consistent with drug trafficking. The street value of the seized drugs is nearly $235,000.

Makell Cain (28 years old), Khalil Cain (20 years old), Jenawnd Beals (26 years old) and Taylor Brown (21 years old), all from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, have been charged with:

  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA 5(2)
  • Possession of MDMA for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA 5(2)
  • Possession of a firearm for dangerous purposes (s. 88 CCC)
  • Careless storage of a firearm (s. 86 CCC)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm (s. 91 CCC)

All individuals charged have been remanded in custody and will appear in court at a later date.

The Street Crime Unit (SCU) is a specialized unit comprised of five officers. Their mandate is to disrupt drug trafficking in and around Charlottetown.

  • 21 drug investigations
  • 34 persons charged
  • 138 charges laid
  • 4390 grams (4.4 kg) cocaine seized
  • 3035 grams (3.0 kg) crystal methamphetamine seized
  • 2287 grams (2.3 kg) cannabis products seized
  • 1162 grams (1.2 kg) fentanyl seized
  • $133,700 cash seized
  • 24 firearms (4 real, 20 imitation) seized

The street value of the seized drugs is more than $1.2 million.

On November 2, Charlottetown Police Services received a report of a stolen debit card being used at multiple locations. Surveillance footage was obtained, and CPS is now seeking public assistance to identify this fraud suspect.

PEI’s Ground Search and Rescue has been activated by Charlottetown Police Services to help locate 54-year-old Lloyd MacDonald.

It was initially reported that MacDonald was last seen at the Salvation Army on Friday, October 17, 2025, however, after further investigation, his last confirmed whereabouts was the corner of Queen Street and Pond Street on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Be advised that Ground Search and Rescue will begin their search at Queen Street and Pond Street and the surrounding area. Ground Search and Rescue will be knocking on doors advising of their search efforts.

Residents are encouraged to walk their own property and check sheds and outbuildings and report anything unusual to Charlottetown Police Services by calling (902) 629-4064.

The Charlottetown Police Services is requesting the public’s assistance locating 54-year-old Lloyd MacDonald. He was last seen at the Salvation Army on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Community members, who regularly see MacDonald at appointments and other services, are concerned about his whereabouts and well-being. MacDonald has failed to show up to appointments and other services, which is unusual for him, causing increased concern.

Build: slim
Eyes: blue
Hair: brown with some greying
