Break and Enter – Charges Laid

Charlottetown Police Services has charged a male in relation to two break and enter cases that occurred on October 10th.

During the early morning hours on October 10th, a male was captured on video surveillance breaking into two separate businesses located on Kensington Road.  Several items were stolen.

The Major Crime Unit assisted Patrol Officers which led to the execution of a search warrant on October 21 at a residence on Kensington Road.

The search resulted in the seizure of several items that had been stolen from the two businesses and the male suspect was arrested at that time without incident.

A 34 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with two counts of Break and Enter and two counts of breach of probation.   He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court on Thursday.

Charlottetown Police Services is investigating the theft of a vehicle from a residence on Richmond Street, last seen on October 1st.

The vehicle is a black 2019 4 door Jeep Wrangler, it was bearing PEI plate 675VA at the time of the theft.   The picture below is similar to the one stolen.

The search resulted in the seizure of a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, methamphetamine tablets, two replica firearms, drug paraphernalia and approximately 1000.00 dollars cash.

A 49 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with CDSA 5(2) – Possession of crystal methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, CDSA 5(2) – Possession of methamphetamine tablet for the purpose of trafficking  and two (2) counts of possession of a weapon for a  dangerous purpose.

The accused has been released with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

The search resulted in the seizure of 2.5 ounces of cocaine, brass knuckles, a baton, other drug paraphernalia and 2000.00 cash.

A 41 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with CDSA 5(2) – Possession of drugs (Cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon and breach of a recognizance order.

The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

The search resulted in the seizure of a quantity of fentanyl, a replica firearm, other drug paraphernalia and 1300.00 cash.

A male and female were arrested without incident.   The female was later released without charges.

A 52 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with CDSA 5(2) – Possession of drugs (Fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.

The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

File: 20231534685 – At approximately 3:50 am Sunday morning,  Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a single vehicle collision on Brackley Point Road in which the lone vehicle was stuck in the ditch.   The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and displayed signs of being impaired by alcohol.

A 17 year old Summerside male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle after providing breath samples that were over the legal limit.

The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services is reminding the public  to  plan ahead and never get behind the wheel when their ability to drive is impaired by drugs or alcohol.

The Police Service wishes to thank concerned citizens for reporting possible impaired drivers.   The public is encouraged to report instances of suspected impaired driving by calling 911.

At 6:35am Saturday morning, Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a male attempting to gain entry into an employee entrance of a local business on University Avenue.   The male was observed by staff attempting to enter the building behind them.  When staff told him he wasn’t allowed to enter and pulled the door shut, he became aggressive and pulled a knife threatening them.  The male then fled the area prior to Police arrival.

The male suspect identified by video surveillance and was located and arrested in the afternoon on Queen Street.

As the result of the investigation, a 39 year old New Brunswick male has been charged with assault with a weapon, breach of a release order and breach of probation.   He was remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial Court this afternoon.

The search resulted in the seizure of a quantity of fentanyl, hydromorphone, other drug paraphernalia and a large sum of cash.

A 44 year old Charlottetown male has been charged with CDSA 5(2) – Possession of drugs (hydromorphone) for the purpose of trafficking, CDSA 4(1) Possession of drugs (fentanyl)  and breach of a recognizance order.

The accused has been released with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

At approximately 11:45 am yesterday (Sept 20), Charlottetown Police Services Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the Rapid Tactical Deployment and Containment Team executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act Search Warrant at a residence on St Peters Road.

The search resulted in the seizure of a quantity of fentanyl, hydromorphone pills, cocaine, weapons (cross bow, switch blade and numerous other knifes, imitation firearm), $3500.00 in cash and other drug paraphernalia associated to drug trafficking.

A male and female were arrested without incident.

A 36 year old Charlottetown woman was charged with the following offenses and was released with conditions:

  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking
  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • CCC 91(3) – Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (Crossbow)

A 32 year old Charlottetown male was charged with the following offenses and has been remanded in custody:

  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking
  • CDSA 5(2) – Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • CCC 91(3) – Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (Crossbow)
  • CCC 91(3) – Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (butterfly knife)
  • CCC 92(3) – Possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized (Crossbow)
  • CCC 92(3) – Possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized (butterfly knife)
  • CCC 117.01(3) – Weapons possession contrary to order (Crossbow)
  • CCC 117.01(3) – Weapons possession contrary to order (butterfly knife)
  • CCC 117.01(3) – Weapons possession contrary to order (imitation firearm)
  • CCC 811 – Breach of a Recognizance Order
