Theft of vehicle – Charges Laid

Charlottetown Police Services have laid charges in relation to a stolen Honda Civic from a residence on Green Street during the overnight hours on October 5th.

On October 14th, a 29 year old Charlottetown man was arrested in Moncton New Brunswick in possession of the stolen vehicle. The accused was returned to PEI and has subsequently been charged by Charlottetown Police with theft of a motor vehicle. He also faces possession of stolen property charges in New Brunswick.
The accused has been released with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a public works truck stolen from the Government Garage located on Park Street. Charlottetown Police Services responded to several Impaired driving complaints over the long weekend and have laid two separate charges.

On Saturday morning at 2:45am, Police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on University Avenue. The vehicle was located and Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. A 20 year old Charlottetown male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.Later that same day at 6:45pm, Police responded to a motor vehicle collision. The driver of one of the vehicles showed signs of impairment by alcohol. An 80 year old Charlottetown male was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. Charlottetown Police Services responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint this morning at 9:15 in West Royalty.

The investigation led Police to the Maritime Electric Substation located on the Sherwood Road and discovered that the facility had been broken into.A 49 year old Kingston man was arrested and has been charged with Break and Enter, Fail to comply to an Undertaking and Breach of Probation. The accused also had outstanding warrants at the time of arrest.The accused has been remanded in custody and will appear in Provincial court at a later date

Charlottetown Police Services are investigating the theft of a 2005 silver Audi A4 1.8 Quattro which was taken from a Charlottetown residence in the early morning hours on September 18th.

At the time of the theft, the Audi was bearing the PEI license plate 907RR and had a black roof rack.Anyone with information about this crime or who may know the whereabouts of the stolen Audi can contact Charlottetown police at 902-629-4172 or PEI Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The Citizen Police Academy (CPA) involves a commitment of one evening per week from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm (three hours) for 12 weeks. Week 12 is a graduation ceremony.

A maximum of 20 participants will be enrolled per session.

The Citizen Police Academy will take place in the community room of the Charlottetown Police Academy located at 10 Kirkwood Drive, Charlottetown.
