Charlottetown Police Services have charged a 27 year old Charlottetown man with Uttering Threats and Criminal Harassment following an investigation into a complaint where repetitive, unwanted contact was made with his ex-girlfriend. In one instance, the man sent in excess of 115 text messages in one morning.
The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

At 10:35 am on Monday morning, Charlottetown Police responded to a complaint of a youth causing a disturbance at a residence on Beach Grove Road. Upon arrival Police located the youth and discovered damage done to the residence. As a result of the investigation, the 13 year old male was charged with Mischief under $5000, Uttering threats and Breach of Probation.
The male will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a single vehicle roll over accident on Murchison Lane near the entrance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at 1:30 am this morning.
The lone occupant and driver of the vehicle was not injured but had to be extracted from the vehicle by Police. Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and was arrested. The driver provided breath samples in excess of the legal limit and was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
The 18 year old Charlottetown man will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

4:40 pm. Charlottetown Police Services responded to a vehicle collision on Capital Drive. Officers determined that one of the drivers was displaying signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested. A 22 year old Marshfield man provided breath samples in excess of the legal limit and was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

3:25am . Charlottetown Police Services responded to a complaint of a vehicle parked on Fitzroy Street with a man sitting in the drivers seat with his foot on the gas revving the vehicles engine loudly.
Upon arrival, Police found the driver sleeping with the vehicle in park and his foot on the gas. The driver was woken up and at that point it was determined that he was impaired by alcohol.
A 48 year old Charlottetown man was arrested and subsequently charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol.
The accused spent the remaining of the night in jail, was later released and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
3:48am. While on routine patrol, Police observed a vehicle driving erratically on Queen Street. The vehicle was pulled over and the Officer determined that the driver displayed signs of impairment by alcohol. The driver was arrested and provided breath sample in excess of the legal limit.
The 21 year old Charlottetown man was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

On Tuesday, April 16, at 5:42 pm, Charlottetown Police Services responded to an assault in progress in the downtown area.
A 35 year old Charlottetown man was subsequently arrested, charged for Assault and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order.
The accused was released from custody on conditions and will appear in court to answer to the charges at later date.
On Monday, April 15th at 11:42 pm Charlottetown Police Services received a call for the report of a possible impaired driver on Palmers Lane. Police located the male in a vehicle stuck in the mud of a front lawn where he was arrested for impaired driving.
A 40 year old Stratford male was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

April 13, 2019, Charlottetown Police responded to 105 Spring Park Rd for the report of a break and enter into a shed over the night. There were 2 Stihl chainsaws stolen.

Charlottetown Police School Resource Officers and Charlottetown Police Services Healthy Me officers conducted the presentation “ Picture This “ to grade 7, 8 & 9 students from Queen Charlotte Jr High School on April 10th.
Charlottetown Police School Resource Officers in conjunction with Student Services have developed a new program entitled “Picture This”.
The program focuses on the impact of harassment, social media (positive and negative), youth intimate images and the legal and mental consequences associated to these actions.
