Occurrence date: May 23 & 24, 2019

As a result of fleeing from Police on three (3) separate occasions on May 23 & 24, a  32 year old woman has been charged with two (2) counts of Flight from Police, one (1) count of Possession of Stolen Property and three (3) counts of Breach of Probation.

The accused appeared in Provincial Court on May 28th for a show cause hearing and has been remanded in custody.  Next court date is June 6 2019.

 

 

Charlottetown Police Services have charged two impaired drivers over the weekend.

On Saturday May 25 at 12:35 am, Police were called to Dorchester Street where a car alarm was disturbing residents.  Upon arrival, Police observed a male slumped over in the drivers seat.  Police woke the male up and determined that he was impaired by drugs and placed him under arrest.

The 47 year old  male was subsequently charged with care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired (by drugs).  The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

On Monday May 27 at 03:30 am, Police responded to a call of an erratic driver that hit a curb on Grafton Street.   Police located the vehicle and determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol.  A 19 year old male was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

While on routine patrol on Queen Street during the early morning hours on May 22nd, Police came upon a male laying in the road unresponsive.  Police began to administer first aid and called Island EMS.

Shortly after, the male regained consciousness, became combative with Police and fled on foot to a nearby vehicle and fled the area.  Attempts to pull the vehicle over failed.  A short time later, the vehicle was intercepted by Police and the male then fled into a nearby building.  Police entered the building and arrested the male.

A 26 year old Stratford man has been charged with:

  • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle (by drugs)
  • Driving while Prohibited
  • Dangerous Driving
  • Flight from Police

The accused has been released from custody with conditions and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Charlottetown Police Services are investigating the theft of a Pick Up Truck from Thompson Drive.

The vehicle is a Black 2014 GMC Sierra Pick Up truck bearing PEI plate B955V . The vehicle has running boards and a tonneau cover.  The theft occurred sometime over the long weekend (May 17-21).

Charlottetown Police Services responded to several complaints of Assaults overnight, none of which are related to each other.

File: 2019706214 – May 20 at 9:44 pm, Police responded to a domestic violence complaint.  A 44 year old Alberta man has been charged with Assault and released on conditions.

File: 2019706547 – May 20 at 10:42 pm, Police responded to an assault occurrence at a local business on Kent Street.  Two suspects were located and arrested, both were intoxicated and face several charges.  A 21 year old Nova Scotia man has been charged with Assault and Resisting Arrest. The second man, a 26 year old Alberta resident has been charged with Assault.

File 2019706604 – May 20 at 10:45 pm, Police responded to a domestic violence complaint.  The male was on conditions to have no contact with the female from a previous incident, the male also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.  A 38 year old Charlottetown man was arrested and taken into custody.  The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.  Police will attempt to remand the accused.

Occurrence date/time: Saturday May 18 2019 @ 7:50 pm.

Charlottetown Police Services is looking to speak with any witnesses who may have seen a two car collision that occurred at the Maypoint Road roundabout.

On Saturday evening at approximately 7:50 pm, two vehicles travelling East from North River towards Charlottetown entered the roundabout side by side in their designated lanes.  Once inside the circle, one of the vehicles changed lanes and struck the other vehicle.  No injuries requiring EMS were reported, one vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this collision.  Please call Charlottetown Police Services at 902-629-4172.

Charlottetown Police Services is asking the travelling motorists to proceed with caution on St Peters Road near Wright’s Creek on Monday May 20th from 9:00am to 12:00pm.

The Hillsborough River Association and Wright’s Creek are holding their second annual fishing derby at the pond on Monday.

There will be an increase in pedestrian traffic crossing St Peters Road to go to the upper pond and motorists are asked to use caution and slow down.

Charlottetown Police Services are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle from the Orlebar Park area.

The vehicle is a Blue 4 door 2014 Honda Civic bearing PEI plate 8DE . The theft occurred sometime between 4:00pm and 5:30pm on Tuesday afternoon.
